ECE to Primary Transitions

ECE to Primary Transitions for children with learning support needs

Children with learning support needs, along with their educators, family and whānau,  benefit from an effective plan for transitioning from early learning into school. Effective transitions are critical to the development of children’s self-worth, confidence and resilience, and ongoing success at school. This is a time to build relationships, maintain excitement for learning and ensure children experience continuity in their learning.

Early Learning

Early Intervention provides support for children with additional needs from birth until they transition into school.

Services are available to parents, whānau and kaiako to support a plan for a child’s participation and learning.

Early intervention teams work with families and early childhood educators who ask for help when they are concerned about the learning and development of young children. This may concern a child’s developmental delay, disability, behaviour and/or communication difficulty.
